The Samsung Galaxy S20!

Samsung have finally announced their new flagship for the first half of 2020, the Samsung Galaxy S20!

With the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy S20, Samsung have brought out 3 new variations of the phone. The first being the Samsung Galaxy S20 on its own. This is the cheapest version of the phone that is available to purchase coming in at around £799. This version of the phone comes with the box standard kind of specs that would be expected from a phone in the first quarter of 2020.

The standard S20 comes with a 6.2 inch screen which is already the same size as the previous Samsung Galaxy S10 plus, so these phones are going to be big! The S20 comes with a triple lens setup on the back. This year Samsung has boosted the pixel size from the 1.4 microns on the Galaxy S10 to the 1.8 microns on the S20. The camera sensors on the S20 are also a lot larger. However Samsung have said that their biggest overall upgrade to the camera will be the night time photos. With this upgrade night time photos will be much clearer which is something Samsung has always lacked in, in terms of their cameras (in my opinion.) Samsung have also introduced a telephoto lens that takes a massive jump from the 12MP on the Samsung Galaxy S10 to 64MP on the Samsung Galaxy S20. The new telephoto lens brings a 3x optical and 30x digital zoom to the phone.

To power all of this amazing camera tech, the Samsung Galaxy comes with a new 7nm chipset, 12GB of ram, and an outstanding 128Gb of internal storage, and also comes with a micro SD slot allowing for expandable storage just in case you somehow do manage to run out of storage.

The phones amazing 4,000mAh battery seems massive. However because of the 5G capability that battery life might not last that long. The bigger battery has already had one consequence, its gotten rid of the headphone jack, this is the first time Samsung have dropped the headphone jack from their S series.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 has a lot going for it, with a very large screen and display size, to an incredibly fast refresh rate, a new triple lens camera with what seems to be a lot of promise, and some very beefy specs backed up by 5G support for faster data speeds.

But it unfortunately runs the risk of falling into the trap of not being very affordable. Its massive starting price of £799 is definitely going to be a turn off for some people, especially with phones like the one plus series being a lot more affordable. But others that have a more substantial budget will look more towars the S20 plus and the S20 ultra for the bigger phone and better specs.

Samsung’s Mobile World Congress!

Samsung introduced a range of different phones this year at the mobile world congress with the unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Fold and the Samsung Galaxy S-10 series of phones!

With the Mobile world congress now over, Samsung have definitely stood out among the crowd of other big smart phone developers. This year Samsung have brought their A game in terms of phones, introducing the Samsung Galaxy S 10E, the Samsung galaxy S 10 and the Samsung Galaxy S 10 plus, which were released on the 22nd of March 2019. This new addition to the Galaxy S series was accompanied by the Samsung Galaxy fold, the first working Full fold-able smartphone that has gone on the market!

The announcement of the Samsung galaxy S10 was definitely the biggest part of Samsung’s panel at the mobile world congress. The introduction of the Galaxy s10 has quite possibly changed how phones will be developed in the near future with Samsung being the first to introduce the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor embodied under the screen of the phone!

This type of finger print sensor works by bouncing a sonic pulse wave off of your fingertip, creating a 3-D image of your fingerprint allowing it to be much more secure than the standard fingerprint sensor.

Samsung have completely changed the way the infinity-0 display works, allowing them to avoid having a notch on the Galaxy S-10 which means that there is significantly more screen whilst still allowing the front facing camera to be there, putting it in a “punch hole” instead of having a notch or having it come out of the top of the phone with a motorized sliding camera.

The Samsung Galaxy S-10 is undoubtedly one of the best phones on the market so far this year. The phone packs a punch in terms of overall spec, running on snapdragon 855 and android 9.0 pie with Samsung’s own “One UI” interface giving the phone a nice and clean look whilst allowing it to be easily navigated. The phone has got a killer 8 GB of ram and 128 GB of storage, and another variation that comes with a staggering 12 GB or ram and 1 TB of storage! However this variation does cost significantly more. This phone also comes standard with an incredibly good triple camera on the back, one lens is the standard 12 Mp wide angle camera, the other is the 16 Mp ultra wide lens and the third is a 12 Mp telephoto lens. Battery life is a very reliable 4100 mAh which will last all day but can be recharged quickly with Samsung’s fast charging. Overall Samsung have outdone themselves in terms of products that have become available for purchase, if you have the money then i would definitely recommend picking up the Samsung Galaxy S-10
